Chance to win tickets for Accies and ’Well cup ties

HAMILTON Accies have a mouth-watering Homecoming Scottish Cup fifth-round clash against Dundee United coming up at New Douglas Park on February 7.

And, should they negotiate their fourth-round clash against Highland League side Inverurie Locos, Motherwell also have an all-SPL clash with St Mirren at Fir Park to look forward to.

Thanks to an arrangement with the Scottish Government, we have a pair of tickets for each match up for grabs in another super Advertiser competition.

Hamilton have taken four points out of six against Craig Levein’s United in the SPL this season, and will be looking to grab another win and progress to the quarter-finals of the SFA’s showpiece competition.

But in what is one of the top ties of the fifth round, the Taysiders will be looking to avenge a 3-1 opening day defeat at New Douglas Park.

Meanwhile, Motherwell will be looking to go on a money-spinning cup run after having been knocked out of the Co-operative Insurance League Cup by derby rivals Hamilton at the third-round stage.

With a 2-1 home win and goalless draw in the last-ever match at St Mirren’s Love Street ground, Motherwell will fancy their chances against the Paisley side.

The Scottish Cup is the oldest trophy in football and is one Scotland’s national treasures.

Homecoming Scotland 2009 is a programme of over 300 events celebrating our country, our rich culture and heritage.

It also marks the 250th anniversary of Robert Burns, Scotland’s national poet, who gave us Auld Lang Syne.

To stand a chance of winning a pair of tickets for the match at New Douglas Park simply answer the following easy question:

Who scored Hamilton’s goal in their fourth-round win over Ross County?

Was it (a) Simon Mensing (b) Richard Offiong or (c) Chris Swailes?

Send your answer, alongside your name, address, age and daytime telephone number to: Accies Scottish Cup ticket competition, Hamilton Advertiser editorial, Press Buildings, Campbell Street, Hamilton, ML3 6AX by first post on Wednesday, February 4.

If you want to win tickets for Fir Park (assuming Motherwell get through against Inverurie), simply answer the following question:

Who is current Motherwell captain?

Is it (a) Stephen Craigan; (b) Stephen Hughes or (c) Chris Porter?

Send your answers alongside your name, address, age and daytime telephone number to: Motherwell Scottish Cup ticket competition, Hamilton Advertiser editorial, Press Buildings, Campbell Street, Hamilton, ML3 6AX by first post on Wednesday, February 4. The promoter’s (Scottish Government) terms and conditions apply.

Good Luck! And remember… join in the Homecoming celebrations!
