Dundee United leave it late to frustrate Accies

HAMILTON Accies can count the draw at Tannadice as two points dropped after late pressure paid off for Dundee United.

The Accies - who remain at the bottom of the SPL following the result - took the lead early on after eight minutes when striker Richard Offiong calmly converted a Simon Mensing cross following some good link-up play. However, following post-match analysis, Mensing looks to have been offisde during the build-up.

Hamilton had a chance to push further ahead, with another cross from Mensing after a great run by James McArthur, however Offiong's lacklustre strike saw the ball drift wide of the mark.

Later in the second half, Mensing was shown his second yellow for an off-the-ball push on Craig Conway.

United had a number of chances thwarted by the Accies defence and keeper Tomas Cerny, but a Conway corner and subsequent penalty area scramble saw Brian Easton knock the ball into his own net.
