A YOUNG Hamilton side which featured first-team coach Stuart Taylor and veteran striker James Grady lost 3-1 against Unibond League side Newcastle Blue Star on Monday night.
Gary Gow scored a consolation for Accies with 12 minutes remaining.

A HAMILTON XI notched up a comfortable 3-0 win over Northern League Division One side Billingham Synthonia on Saturday.
First team coach Stuart Taylor grabbed a double – the second a stunning 35-yard strike – either side of a Lucas Akins goal, as the new signing headed home a James Grady cross.

A STRONG Hamilton side ran out 3-1 winners against Dumbarton at the Strathclyde Homes Stadium on Wednesday.
Accies took the lead in 38 minutes through a 20-yard Tony Stevenson free-kick that ripped past former Hamilton youth keeper Michael White, who had replaced Mark McGeown after only six minutes.
Derek Carcary scored a well-worked equaliser two minutes before the interval, racing through the defence before drilling past Tomas Cerny.
Hamilton were on top for most of the remainder of the game, but didn’t regain the lead until the 73rd minute when James McCarthy scored with a left-foot drive.
New signing Lucas Akins sealed the win, drilling high into the roof of the net from close range with nine minutes remaining.

Striker Andy Waterworth and trialist Brian Carrigan had chances, but a Craig O’Reilly double took the spoils for the Second Division side.
