Accies line up two more pre-season matches

HAMILTON Accies have added to their July pre-season programme with friendlies against Airdrie United and Premierleague side Falkirk.

Accies are scheduled to travel to New Broomfield on Thursday, July 19, and the Falkirk Stadium on Tuesday, July 31.

Although the Falkirk clash has been confirmed, Hamilton are still waiting for Second Division newcomers Airdrie to green-light their match.

The New Douglas Park club have already revealed they will play against Edinburgh City at the capital’s Meadowbank Stadium on Wednesday, July 11.

Boss Billy Reid says the club are looking at other fixtures, and intends his side to be ready for the big kick-off on August 4.

He said: “We’re organising pre-season games and have two more lined up, against Airdrie United and Falkirk.

“Edinburgh City is our first game, at Meadowbank, and is a nice one to ease back into things.

“The Falkirk game, in particular, is one to look forward to; they’re a good SPL team, Falkirk’s stadium is smashing, their pitch is beautiful, and it’s a good game for us to go and play.

“It’s on the Tuesday before the opening match of the new season.

“I’ll take the boys, give them all 60 minutes, and get them really sharpened up.”
