Accies lose out to impressive St Johnstone

ACCIES fell victim to a 2-0 home loss against St Johnstone at New Douglas Park on Saturday.

High winds plagued the first half and neither side were able to create many chances due to the conditions.

However Saints defender Steven Anderson headed the opener just before half time leaving Accies with an uphill battle.

Accies looked lacklustre in the second half as Saints pressured on for a second and the home side eventually broke when Danny Grainger’s brilliant long-range-effort flew past Cerny into the top corner.

The Lanarkshire side now sit in eleventh position with four points from seven games.
