WITH reports that MSP Tom McCabe might stand for leadership of the Labour Party in Scotland, we asked shoppers in Hamilton if they thought he’d make a good candidate.
Alan Watson (48), from Blackwood, said: “I really wouldn’t like to see him put himself forward for leadership. I think he should just stick to doing one job at a time.”
Stacy Doyle (20), from Hamilton, said: “I think he should stand. Based on what I’ve heard about him, I think he’d be quite a good candidate.”
Iain Graham (45), from Hamilton, said: “I think he should stand for the leadership because he has a lot of experience that would qualify him for the role.”
Mary Collison (65), from Uddingston, said: “I don’t think Tom McCabe should stand. I don’t have a particular reason but I’m just not that sure of him.”
