What would you do with £1,000?

TO celebrate the start of the Advertiser’s biggest-ever competition, starting this week and offering readers the chance to win £1000, we asked people in Hamilton what they’d do if they scooped the cash?

Frank Mackin (69) from Strathaven said: ”I would give half of the money to my wife and then put the rest in the bank. I would save up and do something special with it, perhaps a trip to China or somewhere like that.”

John Taylor (75) from Hillhouse said: “I don’t think that amount of money would really make that much of a difference but I would probably use it to go on a holiday to Spain for two weeks.”

Stella Davidson (62) from Larkhall said: “I would use the money to go and visit my son in America. He lives in Arkansas and we only ever get to see him once-a-year, so this would be a treat. It’s just a small place where he lives, but there are so many great shops that I could happily spend time in.”
