As of today (April 1), Scottish businesses will be allowed to choose who supplies their water.
State-owned Scottish Water will no longer be the sole supplier, with Satec, Aquavitae and Business Stream now licensed to provide water.
If it's a newsagent in Orkney or a factory in Edinburgh, over 100,000 Scottish businesses will now be able to choose which company can supply their water - and they can choose an English company if they wish.
Scottish Water will retain control of Scotland’s publicly owned network of pipes, sewers and treatment works but competitor companies can sell the services to business clients and provide billing and additional services.
We want to know what you think. Is the cost of your water too high?
Do you welcome this move which could soon see you having the choice of where your water comes from?
Or are you a business owner and is this good news for you?
