On visiting my daughter in Stonehouse, we came across a disabled gentleman in his scooter in the middle of the road.
We stopped to speak to him - the reason being the pavements aren’t lowered and he had to look for a low pavement before getting to the shops.
As a scooter user myself, and hoping to move to Stonehouse in the near future, I think this is a disgrace.
With all the new houses being built this is an up-and-coming area, South Lanarkshire Council should be thinking of doing something about this.
A scooter is a lifeline to a disabled person, or do they expect you to just stay indoors and be forgotten.
