Last year I gave up my council house due to neighbours I had. I lived in my house with my now 4 year old daughter.
My neighbours caused me nothing but hassle. They played music till all hours and had people coming and going at all hours of the day and night. I had abuse shouted at me on various occasions, when leaving or entering my home.
Did I get help from my local council?
NO.
I was advised on numerous times to keep diaries, keep note of everything that happened and I did. I made at least 4 complaints, maybe more. I had 4 different housing officers within maybe 2 years. I contacted the police twice, yet I still had to take it upon myself and leave for the safety of my daughter and I.
I had to declare myself homeless over 6 months ago, since then I have been living with family and friends. Moving my daughter about from house to house and why? Because I didn’t get any help from the council.
So, did I suffer in silence? No, and it still didn't make a difference. I was still forced to leave my home of 4 years with no help.
So what does it take for someone to listen to you?
