Will and desire to build new houses will be worth it

I completely agree with Councillor Thomson’s letter in last week’s Advertiser — there is a chronic housing shortage.

Younge people have to wait years for a council house; buying a house is costing more and more.

Any scheme that assists first-time buyers or makes waiting lists smaller has to be welcome.

The main parties should be pushing these proposals to give our young people the best start possible.

As the councillor says, it will take real money and a great will and desire to deliver. But it will be worth it.
