Don't blame Calderside Academy

I am writing in response to the recent letter from ’Unhappy Parent’ concerning Calderside Academy.

This person should grow up. When youngsters go to higher education, the purpose is to prepare them for the outside world.

Yes, they all have to wear a uniform. And how horrid for their poor child to have to take his/her jacket off! You do the same when you go home, so what’s the problem?

Regarding fights going to school and coming home, this is not the school’s problem. Pupils should behave like adults and there would be no fights.

This parent is not doing their child any favours. Tell him or her to grow up.

Mrs McB., Blantyre.
