Generous Accies fans are true winners

AS one of the members of Hamilton Lifeboat Committee who collected for the charity at New Douglas Park on the day Hamilton Accies gained promotion to the Premier League, I would like to thank the supporters for their generosity.

Almost £700 was raised and this was a wonderful start to our fund-raising week in the town.

The supporters of Hamilton Accies are to be praised not only for their generosity, but also for their manners and good humour.

We were made welcome by the stewards at the ground and were greatly impressed by the organisation of the club.

We wish the club every success in the new season.
