Well done, Accies

CONGRATULATIONS to Hamilton Accies on winning the First Division title on Saturday before a crowd of almost 5000.

Make no mistake, Hamilton Accies are not your average, over-paid prima donnas of the football fraternity.

The strength of this Accies team is that they all pull together; team spirit is what it’s all about.

On Sunday manager Billy Reid was awarded PFA Manager of the Year, fighting off candidates such as Walter Smith and Mark McGhee.

The future of the club is safe in the hands of a chairman and management with vision who have steered this young side to victory.

This team hold the distinction of being unbeaten at home this season (no mean feat).

Lanarkshire can now boast having two football teams in the SPL. This can only be good for all of us.

Why don’t you go along next season to New Douglas Park and see for yourself?

Nan M. Nimmo, Ferniegair.
