Pollution was not our fault

THE Letter of the Week in the Advertiser dated March 26, 2007, gave the impression that WC Tanker Drainage Services, of Hamilton, could be involved in a pollution incident in the Rotten Calder at Blantyre.

This has now proved to have been a wild and incorrect allegation.

As the Advertiser reported on April 3, Scottish Water were fined £4000 in connection with the incident.

Consultants for WC Tanker Drainage Services, MCK Consultants & Contractors, who investigated this at the time, suggest that James Brown of Waverley Terrace, Blantyre, who wrote the original letter, apologise for the inference, entirely wrong as it has turned out, that WC Tanker Drainage Services may in some way have been responsible for the pollution.

Grant Henderson Transport,
