Price rise cop-out

Raising the price of alcoholic drinks will not remove the problems blamed on excessive consumption. The most obvious example is the behaviour of young people on the streets of our towns and cities.

It was not the low price of drink that brought that about but the lack of a police presence on the streets. The problem would be solved if the police took back control and made the streets safe for the general public, as they used to be.

No new legislation is required as all the laws necessary are already in place. They just need to be enforced.
