These improvements should be priority

A few weeks ago I read comments in the Advertiser from councillor Bert Thomson from Blantyre concerning drop-down kerbs for wheelchair and scooter users (he has urged more in the Blantyre area).

I think it’s a great idea and we should look at implementing more in other areas as well.

Councillor Thomson has remarked in the past about the need to improve roads and pavements. Again, this should be a priority. It adds to safety and improves the look of the area.

All over South Lanarkshire you can’t fail to note the deterioration in roads and pavements, including hundreds of potholes. Let’s all back the councillor and, hopefully, we will see improvements.

Margaret Brown.
