Not yet perfect... but making some excellent progress

I am a senior pupil at Calderside Academy who feels that recent violent incidents have been letting down the school.

Personally I think the new Calderside Academy has been a great experience. Words can’t describe how good it feels to finally be in a new, clean building, kept sturdy by bricks and mortar (as opposed to the thin plastic sheets and chewing gum which kept our previous schools standing).

Calderside Academy presents an environment in which there are plenty of resources and opportunities to learn — and to have fun at the same time.

When the staff realise that pupils are loving every minute and don’t hate the school, that’s when it will be perfect.

Of course every new building has teething problems; it’s time people accepted that and stopped pinning the blame on individuals who are not at fault.

The merge of Blantyre and Earnock has gone surprisingly well. Please, let's stay friends.
