A MAN suffered severe facial injuries after being hit with a glass in a sickening attack in a county hotel.
The 38-year-old could be scarred for life following the incident in Angels Hotel in Uddingston’s Main Street at about 12.35am on Sunday
The thug who carried out the attack fled before police arrived.
The 38-year-old was taken to Monklands Hospital, and detained. He was said to be in a stable condition and expected to undergo surgery on Sunday.
Police have been making inquiries at Angels since the assault and have been interviewing people who were there at the time of the incident.
Detective Inspector Una Maider, of Hamilton CID, has appealed for witnesses.
She said: “I am keen to speak to anyone who has any information about this assault or knows the person responsible.
“I would appeal to anyone who was within Angels at the time, and who hasn’t yet spoken to police, or anyone who was in the area at about 12.30am on the day of the attack and who perhaps saw the man responsible leaving the area to come forward.”
The suspect was described as about 5ft 8ins tall, of stocky build, wearing dark clothing.
