Figures revealed that 42 Lanarkshire patients died from the hospital-acquired superbug Clostridium difficile in 2007.
Three of Lanarkshire’s major hospitals, Monklands, Hairmyres and Wishaw General seen 418 superbug cases in a six-month period between December 2007 and May.
